Payment processor PayPal announced fourth quarter earnings on Thursday that met analysts’ expectations on revenue and profit, and continued to illustrate overall payments growth. The company added about 5 million active customer accounts this quarter, following a year in which it inked deals with the likes of Visa and Mastercard that allow users to use PayPal to pay for goods in stores with their smartphones.
