Pop singer Ariana Grande has stormed the albums chart across the pond and landed herself another leader in the U.K. The star has always been successful in the United Kingdom, but after the terrorist attack at her concert in Manchester last year that left some 23 concertgoers dead and hundreds others injured, she’s something of a hero, so it’s no surprise that her latest faced no problems entering as high as a release can climb.
Sweetener, Grande’s fourth full-length, debuts at No. 1 with 45,000 equivalent units, a fair start for a newly-released title in the U.K. The record is now her second (and her second consecutive) chart-topper in the country, as she first made it to the top with 2016’s Dangerous Woman, which ended up becoming a global phenomenon.
