BACK2THEFRESH (AP) After drinking a Blood Orange Pellegrino, and eating a bagel, and two bags of potato chips in Olde Cafe, on 147 N 3rd St in Philadelphia Pa, I immediately cycled towards Menagerie Coffee on 18 South 3rd Street for a cup of coffee. I’ve dined in those two establishments a few times in front of Fox 29 News to test out their customer service. And their customer service has been Grade A each and every time.

Upon departing from Menagerie Coffee, I headed towards Dunkin’ Donuts in Chinatown on 1038 Arch Street. Now I’ve eaten and drank coffee there on numerous occasions. And each and every-time I went in, the cashier, or associate’s have either given me a dirty look, or have whispered to each other about me.

But this particular time, something else took place. I go in, and ask the cashier could I use the rest room, and he replied, “You have to buy something“. And my response was, “I will as soon as I get out of the bathroom“. After I went into the bathroom, the cashier banged on the door a few times and said, “Hurry up!”. My response was, “It’s occupied. I’ll be out in a minute“. 10 seconds later he, banged on the door again yelling, “Hurry up!“. I again responded, “I’ll be out.”

I leave the bathroom and other customers where in line. I asked one of them to pardon me while I handed the bathroom key to the cashier. The cashier spoke to me as if I weren’t a paying customer. He began to wave his hand at me in an arrogant manner and said, “Get out of here“.

I responded, “I’m a paying customer“. He began speaking as if he had a problem with me for no apparent reason in an extremely disrespectful manner in front of the other customers. I then pulled out my I.D badge and told him that, “I’m the Editor – And – Chief of BACK2THEFRESH.ME “Global News”, do you want a bad review?” All I know is that he said another disrespectful thing, and I said, “I’ll never eat here again, you’re done.” I went outside and took pictures of their Dunkin’ Donuts, because I’m also a photographer.

A stranger approached me outside while I was photographing and asked who I was with. I said, “I’m the Editor – And Chief of BACK2THEFRESH “Global News”, even The White House reads us.” He left and I continued photographing.

I don’t know about Dunkin’ Donuts but I’ve never witnessed an establishment chase hard working, tax paying customers away before. That was just wrong all across the board. Dunkin’ Donuts has lost me as a customer everywhere. I’m traumatized because I just don’t spend money with just anyone.

Their behavior made me feel targeted and discriminated against.

So naturally being as though I felt the way I did, I cycled around until I found The Philadelphia PD. I approached 3 officers to let them know who I was and what happened. We had a brief discussion and during the conversation, they advised that I speak with corporate. And I greed too.

Thank you Philadelphia PD for the advice. You’ve helped to ease my mind, because I don’t trust those guys in that Dunkin’ Donuts for anyone.

I’ve never asked for a handout. I always pay. I’m just upset that I had to give Dunkin’ Donuts a bad review. And don’t think for one second that this isn’t a decision that hasn’t been constructed over a 12 month period of time. You have caused me trauma, and psychological & emotional distress that may take therapy. I don’t know if I’ll be able to recover.
